The Parents Association for Vocational Schools and Community Colleges (PAVSCC) was established in 1985 as a voluntary organisation representing the interests of parents of second level students in the vocational sector. The local School Association is the foundation stone of PAVSCC

Schools associations meet early in the school year and at their Annual General meeting to elect a committee to represent them. The committee then elects its Officers and also two representatives to go foreword to represent their school at scheme level.

The Scheme association is the next level in the PAVSCC organisation, 2 representatives from each VEC school/college in the county elect their own Officers and a person to represent the County at National level. It is from the scheme that the nominee for the local VEC.

The National Executive consists of the representatives of the Counties who have been elected from their Scheme. The Officers are elected by nomination at the Annual General Meeting held in March of each year. The National Executive runs the association at a National level. It is from the National Executive that four PAVSCC delegates are elected to the National Parents Council PostPrimary.

Thus the sequence is:

2. County Scheme

3. National Association

4. National Parents Council PostPrimary

5. European Parents Council PostPrimary
