Newly Launched - NPCpp In-service and Training Initiative - Training the Trainers
19/02/2010

National Parents Council post – primary (NPCpp) have initiated a in-service programme focused on delivering a training programme geared towards training Parents/Guardians on Parents’ Associations in all post-primary schools(Community Schools, Community Colleges, Comprehensive Schools, Secondary Schools and Vocational Schools), nationwide. The delivery of such a programme will ensure that the members of each Parent’s Association will know their responsibilities, their rights and where to obtain all the knowledge required to ensure they can advise fellow Parents/Guardians as the need arises.
The first part of this training initiative is to “Train the Trainers”. Thus NPCpp is seeking volunteer Parents/Guardians from all sectors of post-primary education who are willing to give of their time on a Saturday of their choice.  These Parents/Guardians will be given and assisted with the necessary information and a suitable programme, to enable all returns to their City/County/School and impart the training programme to other interested Parents/Guardians. It is hoped that at minimum NPCpp will secure at least two Parents/Guardians from each Community or Comprehensive or Secondary or Vocational Schools sector in each County or City who is willing to be part of this initiative.

The National Parent Associations/Organisations that constitute the membership of NPCpp – COMPASS, CSPA, FEDCBS, NPAVSCC and PACCS; will also assist in nominating Parents/Guardians for this training initiative. Regardless, NPCpp welcomes interest from any Parents/Guardians who are willing to participate in the training initiative.

The proposed agenda for this training initiative is enclosed along with dates and venues where the programmes will be delivered.  Interested Parents/Guardians should ring Ms. Sandra Boylan at 01 8302740or email npcpp@eircom.net  for an application form.

NPCpp wish to thank most sincerely the management of the schools where the “Training the Trainers” in-service programme will be delivered for their wonderful cooperation and assistance with the accommodation needs of NPCpp in this matter.
